The Texas Columbine

Our family fell in love with the Columbines in Colorado that graced the hillsides in June and July. The Columbine is the state flower of colorado and they, in the wild, bloom hues of blue and red. The Texas variety is native to Big Bend. We bought the three we have here from Steve's Nursery near Greenville last year and have managed to get two more from seeds harvested after last spring. It is my favorite wild flower.
