Wet and Wild Weekend and South Dakota Visitors

We had my aunt and uncle Joy and Allen, their son Waye, his wife Monica and their two children plust Melaanie's sister Marcy at the lake last week. The kids got to ride the tube behind the boat and catch a few fish. Had a great visit. Melanie set the biat record that will be hard to break as she caught a 22 pound carp. It gave her a great fight and she was very excited.
On Friday, we have kim, ryan and josh as well as Joey Allison and Case headed for some weekend fun. Had a nice rain today as the lake is now less than 1.8 feet low and rising!
Busy weekend as the annual wet and wild motorcycle rally was held.
City Council meets tonight at 7.

This is the group that participated in the loan closing for the new City Water Plant Wednesday. After eight years of this and that, work will begin on the plant next week. We are very anxious to get this project underway.

Father's Day Weekend- and more rain

We had Johnny and Merikaye Qualls and Marcy Bomar at the house over the weekend. Johnny and I fished the Striper Tournament at the lake Saturday and we had an experience. Five munites from the boat dock at 6 a.m. and a storm hit and it rained all day. Like troopers, we fished the 8 hours and caught at least 60 fish, had two for the weigh in and did not finish last! My goal was to just live through the day. We had a great but cold & wet day.
Sunday we drove over to Arlington and met Joey, Allison and Case for dinner.
The area avoided the damaging floods of North Texas Monday and we received some beneficial rains. The lake level is now 2.25 feet low and climbing.
We have my aunt and uncle from South Dakota coming tomorrow along with their son and daughter in law and their two kids and look forward to their visit.

My Patient and Fishing Partner

Melanie had more damage to her knee than the doctor had thought. They take pictures of everything now don't they? She did well the day of the surgery (Wednesday) but then again, she slept all day. Yesterday she got a little too active and paid for it last night.
Son in law Ryan and a friend of his are in town and we had a fish fry for them last night. They are attending a Lions Club convention in Arlington.
Not much going to happen this weekend. Do plan on getting the lawn mowed and kicking back quite a bit.

This is a distant thunderstorm that greeted Marcy, Melanie and I on the lake late yesterday evening. We got in a short fishing trip after a late afternoon shower. We found a pretty good school of white bass near the Greenville Pump Station and they kept 15 and released several more.
Melanie is having knee surgery tomorrow and that will limit our fishing for the next couple of weeks or so.
Today I turn 54 and I appreciate the calls and emails from friends, co-workers and family.

Weekend visit, We Have a Lake Again!

Traveled to College Station for a quick visit with Mom, brother Glenn and his family. Had a great visit and they had a birthday party for me. Came home Sunday evening and sister in laws Marcy and Merikay were here along with brother in law Johnny and they spent Sunday afternoon installing a trolling motor and a bait tank on the boat. That was a nice birthday surprise! As of 8:15 a.m. June 4, the lake is now only 2.67 feet low. It was amazing to watch that level rise 4 feet over the past week.
Melanie has knee scope surgery on Wednesday so be thinking of her.
