Still Raining Wednesday

Since last Saturday, Lake Tawakoni has risen more than a foot as we are now less than 5.4 feet low. With good rain falling this morning, the level should come up again.

Memorial Day Weekend Brings Much Needed Rain

Some folks may have had some plans washed out but man did it rain here on Sunday. As of 8:15 a.m. on May 29, the lake is now 5.78 feet low and rising as more than a foot of lake rise came since May 26.
Melanie and I fished on Friday, helped sister Merikay with a wedding in Bells on Satruday, watched it rain and ate fried crappie Sunday (also did quite a bit of work on the back deck) and had a pleasant fishing trip on Monday. I attended the Memorial Day event at the City Park Monday.

Mother's Day Weekend Hybrids

Last year, Melanie and I took brother in laws Matt and Johnny out trolling near the dam Mother's Day Weekend and they just wore the hybrids and stripers out. Melanie and I got an ealy start yesterday. I took off work early to run some errands, get the car inspected, buy her a Mother's Day gift (the romantic fool I am I got her a new rod and reel) and off we went. We started off okay, caught a few near the Terrell Pump Station, released all but three and headed for the dam. Made a troll along there and then we saw a few boats off Tallman Reach and headed there. It was on. Melanie boated three hybrids all over 20 inches and we released several more. Snapped the photos on the way back to the boat dock. Great evening out on a fantastic fishing lake. The fish came right after a hump and thermocline break at 16 feet.

Andersons, Council Meeting, Election is Saturday

Long time family friends Jim & Sue Anderson brought mom up for a short visit this past weekend. I took Jim fishing and he wanted to catch catfish on a rod and reel. We did. We caught enough for a fish fry and Jim took a gallon and a half of fillets back to College Station.
Could not talk mom into spending a couple of more days.
City Council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday night at City Hall and it will be time to renew your license to gripe as the City Elections will be held at City Hall Saturday from 7-7.

Fishing, Chamber Banquet, Bid Opening... More

Melanie and I had her brother Matt and his girlfriend Terry last weekend and they left with a carry on bag full of fish fillets. Monday, Melanie and I attended the Chamber Banquet. WFAA sports man Dale Hansen was the featured speaker and he was a hoot. The water plant bid opening (again) is set for 2:30 p.m. Thursday and the City Council meets at City Hall at 7 p.m. May 8th for a regular session.
Melanie is going to Amarillo this weekend for a wedding and grandson Josh is, as he puts it, the ring barrier.
